Afghan migrant admits stabbing two in west London as murder charge continues

A 23-year-old Afghan migrant has admitted to stabbing two people in west London, as court proceedings continue over a separate murder charge linked to the same incident. Safi Dawood appeared via videolink at Southwark Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent against his landlord, Shahzad Farrukh, and to actual bodily harm involving a 14-year-old boy. The case relates to a violent attack that took place in October last year in Uxbridge.
During the hearing, Dawood also admitted possessing an offensive weapon. However, he denied two alternative charges of attempted murder, and no plea was entered in relation to the killing of Wayne Broadhurst, who died after being stabbed multiple times. The court is expected to continue hearing evidence regarding the murder charge in upcoming proceedings.
The court heard that Dawood had been living as a lodger at the address where the attack occurred. He allegedly assaulted Mr Farrukh and injured the teenage boy, who suffered minor wounds to his hands. At one point, Dawood was reportedly seen holding a knife in a nearby garden while neighbours attempted to help the victims. A witness intervened by striking him with a walking stick, causing him to back away.
Wayne Broadhurst, who was not known to Dawood, was attacked while walking his dog and died at the scene from multiple stab wounds. Emergency services attended, but were unable to save him.
The case remains ongoing as the court continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the attack and determine the outcome of the remaining charges.
