Anthony Joshua Stops Jake Paul in Sixth Round to Claim Heavyweight Victory

Two time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua delivered a decisive statement on Friday night, knocking out Jake Paul in the sixth round of their much anticipated heavyweight bout in Miami.
Fighting in front of a sold out crowd at Kaseya Center, Joshua showed the experience and power that have defined his career. From the early rounds, the former world champion controlled the pace and distance, using his jab to keep Paul under pressure and limit his counter punching opportunities.
The momentum shifted decisively in the fifth round when Joshua dropped Paul twice. The YouTuber turned boxer showed toughness in beating the count on both occasions, but his movement slowed noticeably as Joshua continued to land clean shots. Sensing the end was near, Joshua pressed forward at the start of the sixth round.
A sharp right uppercut rocked Paul early, followed by a series of punches to the head that sent him to the canvas again. Although Paul managed to stand, Joshua quickly closed the distance and delivered another right hand that floored him for the fourth time in the fight. Referee Christopher Young stepped in to stop the contest at 1 minute and 31 seconds of the sixth round.
Joshua improved his professional record to 29 wins and 4 losses, with 26 victories coming by knockout. For Paul, the defeat dropped his record to 12 wins and 2 losses, ending hopes of a major upset against an established heavyweight star.
The fight drew significant attention due to Paul’s crossover appeal, but the result reinforced the gap between elite championship level boxers and newer entrants to the sport. For Joshua, the win keeps him firmly in the heavyweight picture as discussions turn once again to potential high profile matchups ahead.
